Sad day for nails!

So.....back in October, I had acrylic nails put on.  Lame, yes. Stupid, yes. My nails were fairly nice looking. Why?  Vanity. Pure and simple.  I love the stiletto nail look. I thought it was sexy. OK, I'm weird.  That's what I wanted sexy, stiletto nails. I couldn't have them as pointy as I wanted because I work in a medical clinic, I did however keep them as pointy as I could get away with without severing someones jugular vein.  Just kidding.

I knew what the outcome would be when I took them off. I did take them off in January. Soaked off totally in acetone. My nails were trashed, toast, FUBAR, whatever you want to call it.  I put them back on and grew them out for six weeks under the acrylic.  After they had grown out a bit, I shortened the acrylics. Grew them put for a bit more and shortened them again.

I believe what saved the nail was when they grew  out, I didn't put on more acrylic. I used LED gel polish. So anyway, this is what I have now. Not as bad as expected.

Yes, I have noticed that I have a Zombie hands. Life sucks but Halloween is really easy. I purchased a product from Salon Sciences called Starting Over - After Acrylics. I've never tried it, I bought it on Amazon. It looks like this.

It's pretty simple. You put two coats on every other day to "Clean, dry nails that are free from all traces of creams or lotions." (Doesn't that sound official?)  Here's the link if you are interested. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003JN4NHG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You are supposed to see results in two weeks. We shall see.

Thanks for stopping by.

P.S. I bought this with my own cold, hard cash.

Wishing you the very best Holiday season

Yes, I know it's been two months since my last post. My health issues have carried over for two months and I have been exhausted. I was finally feeling better and I lost someone very dear to me. When I was born. I was blessed with amazing parents, my Nana and my Aunt Wanda.  Wanda has always treated me like her own. I spent every minute of my childhood that I could at Wanda and Nana's house. It was home to me. My grandmother taught me how to iron, cook and sew among other things. I lost her when I was 11. Both parents passed away in 2003. Wanda was always there for me. She was like a second mom to me. She helped me with anything she could.  She babysat my six kids when I was a single parent going to school. She treated my kids like they were her own. She was an amazing woman. She worked at Grand Coulee Dam when it was being built, she traveled and she truly loved life. She was a Christian and she devoted her life to Jesus Christ. Back in July when I had surgery on my foo...

A woman is helpless only when her nail polish is drying......

My daughter gave me a sign that says just that as a gift. She is so right. I can cook anything I choose, change the oil in a car, change a tire and a hundred other things I learned along the way. Mess with me when my polish is drying, you are going to be in trouble. \ Seriously. Painting nail is an art, even if you are putting on one color. It's tricky,it takes practice and its frustrating as Hell if you have to start over. Be patient. Let a woman get her nails dry and everything is awesome.  Fortunately my kids aren't little anymore and then fend for themselves most of the time. Other times it's like this "Mom, Mooooom, I've cut my carotid artery! I'm bleeding!!"  Yes dear, I'll be right there. Let my nail polish dry. Seriously, it's never that severe. Funny though. On with the polish at hand.... I really like the Pro-Fx Nail Concealer. It makes a nice smooth base to work with. I use one coat. It dries fast which is a bonus. Who really...

Greetings fellow nail polish fans...

My daughter has been out of school for nine days due to the weather. At this moment, it  is snowing like a son of a gun. She's so bored. I recently received the latest copy of Nail It! magazine. It's the November/December issue. There are so many amazing ideas for nails. As I was perusing through it's pages, I came upon this. This was submitted by Nora Ramsdell, Richmond, VA @naq57.  I really liked the look of the gold and green/teal color. Very chic but simple too.  Here we go.  I started with a base coat. Your choice. As long as it works, you will be fine.  I like Green but not all Greens. I tend to gravitate towards the blue-green, green-blue, teal-y colors. I chose Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Re-teal Therapy. I love this brand. It drys quickly and on me, it lasts until I take it off. That's usually about 10 days. I used two coats. For the Gold, I decided to try something new. I usually use stamping polish. I have seen videos on YouTube...
