So I'm a bit late with my New Year post. I suppose I could say my New Year starts February first. I say that because my birthday is January 31st so I guess technically it is my New Year today. I think I'm just going to go with that. Maybe I'll pass myself off as less of a dork. Whatever. Today my post is different than usual. It's more of a "Hey, I could use this to do this!!" post.
So I love glitter polish. I mean who doesn't right? Well I suppose there might be a few people that don't like it. Probably for the same reason I've had a love/hate relationship with it. because it's really freaking hard to get off. It's time consuming, seriously. I was thrilled when multiple manufactures c came out with "Glitter Base Coat." It's a truly amazing thing. Your glitter polish will peel right off your nails, usually in one piece. It's really cool.
Anyhoo, the first picture I took was of my nails with Sally Hansen Big Peel Off Base Coat. You can't really see it but trust me, its there. The directions say: Apply a thick layer to clean dry nails. Let dry completely. Base coat will be completely transparent. Apply nail color. Peel off to remove. Avoid hot water 3 hours after application."
The second picture is three coats of Crows Toes Cheshire. It's a polish with different sizes of glitter in it. I've tried this base coat on different types of glitter polish. It works every time. The glitter polish peels right off. After I peeled it off, one swipe with a cotton ball with non-acetone remover on it, the glitter is gone. See picture three.
I get some of my best ideas in the middle of the night. Last night I thought "Hey, I bet I could use that peel off base coat as a polish fence." I am allergic to latex so I cant use the products they sell to prevent your polish from getting absolutely everywhere. So this morning, I tried it. Painted it all around my nails. See the picture. While I don't make that much of a mess of my polish, I made it messier to get my point across.
The base coat peels off. Tada...perfectly polished nails. If you are really observant, you will notice in the first pictures, the polish was a black glitter. Now it's just black cream. I didn't take a picture of the finished nails before I took the polish off. I had to go through the whole process over. Oh well. I did exactly the same thing.
I bought all the supplies with my own money. No sponsored video here. The Sally Hansen Big Peel Off Base Coat I purchased at Rite-Aid. I've seen it at Ulta, and Walmart as well. I hope you enjoyed these tips. Thank you for stopping by.
