Never fear.....

No one will ever know.

So, today's post is about two things. I was raised in a fairly conservative family.  Air Force Dad, working Mom. I got my ears pierced when I was about 8 years old. I begged to get them pierces for what, at the time, seemed like an eternity. My Mom finally relented.

It wasn't until I was 17 that I got a second piercing in my ear lobe.  In collage, I added a third piercing to one ear. In the words of Bob Dylan "The times, they are a changing."

Nowadays, people pierce everything I've had my eyebrow, nose, tongue, lower lip and ears pierced. The remaining piercings besides my ears are a tiny stud in  my nose and under my lower lip. Ive had them pierced for so long, I don't even think about them anymore

Long story short, I bought some piercing needles and jewelry. I had hemostats from Nursing School.  I sterilized the hemostats and jewelry. My daughter was home so we pierced my ear. I decided to pierce my septum. No big thing. With the right type of jewelry, you can put it in your nose and no one can see your piercing. My teenage daughter asked f I would pierce hers.  I did. HUGE thing.; Dad was furious and had more then a few choice words for me, some which were "Weak minded" and "Lived in a fairy tale world." I'm not sure how these pertain to piercings but apparently they do."  I looked at the whole situation differently. We didn't ask him first. That was my mistake.  But piercings are so immaterial. Unless you have 00 gauge earrings, when you take out the piercing, It's going to close up. I could not get Dad to see this. She isn't pregnant, in jail, doing drugs or sleeping around.  Choose your battles. Kids like to try new things. In my book piercings are the least of my worries.

I bought this new stuff from Amazon. Here's the link. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01824Q63K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm not sure what I expected but I don't think it was this. At first glance, this stuff looks like opalescent paper. Well, that's what it is. You get 10 colors for $9.

The trick is when you cut up said paper into tiny different shapes and randomly stick them on you nails.......

I know, right!!
All you need to do this is base coat, polish (I chose gold glitter) this paper and a topcoat. Don't forget scissors.  I used a LED Gel top coat but a regular topcoat

It took about 20 minutes to do all my nails. I'm anxious to try the other colors too.

I hope you like this look.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wishing you the very best Holiday season

Yes, I know it's been two months since my last post. My health issues have carried over for two months and I have been exhausted. I was finally feeling better and I lost someone very dear to me. When I was born. I was blessed with amazing parents, my Nana and my Aunt Wanda.  Wanda has always treated me like her own. I spent every minute of my childhood that I could at Wanda and Nana's house. It was home to me. My grandmother taught me how to iron, cook and sew among other things. I lost her when I was 11. Both parents passed away in 2003. Wanda was always there for me. She was like a second mom to me. She helped me with anything she could.  She babysat my six kids when I was a single parent going to school. She treated my kids like they were her own. She was an amazing woman. She worked at Grand Coulee Dam when it was being built, she traveled and she truly loved life. She was a Christian and she devoted her life to Jesus Christ. Back in July when I had surgery on my foo...

A woman is helpless only when her nail polish is drying......

My daughter gave me a sign that says just that as a gift. She is so right. I can cook anything I choose, change the oil in a car, change a tire and a hundred other things I learned along the way. Mess with me when my polish is drying, you are going to be in trouble. \ Seriously. Painting nail is an art, even if you are putting on one color. It's tricky,it takes practice and its frustrating as Hell if you have to start over. Be patient. Let a woman get her nails dry and everything is awesome.  Fortunately my kids aren't little anymore and then fend for themselves most of the time. Other times it's like this "Mom, Mooooom, I've cut my carotid artery! I'm bleeding!!"  Yes dear, I'll be right there. Let my nail polish dry. Seriously, it's never that severe. Funny though. On with the polish at hand.... I really like the Pro-Fx Nail Concealer. It makes a nice smooth base to work with. I use one coat. It dries fast which is a bonus. Who really...

Greetings fellow nail polish fans...

My daughter has been out of school for nine days due to the weather. At this moment, it  is snowing like a son of a gun. She's so bored. I recently received the latest copy of Nail It! magazine. It's the November/December issue. There are so many amazing ideas for nails. As I was perusing through it's pages, I came upon this. This was submitted by Nora Ramsdell, Richmond, VA @naq57.  I really liked the look of the gold and green/teal color. Very chic but simple too.  Here we go.  I started with a base coat. Your choice. As long as it works, you will be fine.  I like Green but not all Greens. I tend to gravitate towards the blue-green, green-blue, teal-y colors. I chose Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Re-teal Therapy. I love this brand. It drys quickly and on me, it lasts until I take it off. That's usually about 10 days. I used two coats. For the Gold, I decided to try something new. I usually use stamping polish. I have seen videos on YouTube...
