Where's Foxy.........

He's out in the middle of nowhere.

If you have teenagers, they may have watched a show called "Charlie & Lola." My daughter loved that show. She was five at the time. Foxy was Lola's toy fox.m One day she lost him "out on the middle of nowhere." If you asked her where Foxy was, she would say, in her tiny five year old voice,l with her best British accent "He's out in the middle of nowhere."

That's how I've felt these past two and a half months.  Like I was stuck out in the middle of nowhere. I had Achilles tendon repair on July 6th. I'm apparently clumsy as Hell because I fell trying to go to the bathroom and put my foot down. No big deal. There was no pain involved so I didn't think anything about it. On July 11th, Mr. Unhappy Gallbladder came out. Cool. No pain. I saw my Podiatrist who was unhappy that I fell but understanding. wasn't sure about the whole situation. Followed up with him a week later and we decided to do an MRI to make sure everything was copacetic. Guess what, torn Achilles tendon again. Back to surgery I go. I have had the same Podiatrist for 16 years.  That's a long time considering I only had my OB Gyn Doctor for seven.

Second surgery and I'm good to go. Until I get home. Here's another visual. Remember Rowan and Martin's Laugh In? Sad day for you if you don't. One of the Actor's was Arte Johnson. He was a little man. He would ride around on a tricycle and just fall over side ways, with no assistance. That's what I did. Just fell over sideways. I am apparently the clumsiest person this side of the Pecos.

I laid there on the ground and said "somebody get me a pillow." My husband said "If we leave you out here, the earwigs will have engulfed you by the morning." Better to be engulfed by earwigs then face the utmost humiliation when I had to tell my Doctor I fell again. He was very kind. The MRIK look good so fingers crossed.

Back to work I went and I have been exhausted. I have been blessed with a new grandson in July and a new granddaughter two days ago. I must have some purpose after all.

I'll  be doing an actual nail post next week.

Thanks for stopping by.

A woman is helpless only when her nail polish is drying......

My daughter gave me a sign that says just that as a gift. She is so right. I can cook anything I choose, change the oil in a car, change a tire and a hundred other things I learned along the way. Mess with me when my polish is drying, you are going to be in trouble. \ Seriously. Painting nail is an art, even if you are putting on one color. It's tricky,it takes practice and its frustrating as Hell if you have to start over. Be patient. Let a woman get her nails dry and everything is awesome.  Fortunately my kids aren't little anymore and then fend for themselves most of the time. Other times it's like this "Mom, Mooooom, I've cut my carotid artery! I'm bleeding!!"  Yes dear, I'll be right there. Let my nail polish dry. Seriously, it's never that severe. Funny though. On with the polish at hand.... I really like the Pro-Fx Nail Concealer. It makes a nice smooth base to work with. I use one coat. It dries fast which is a bonus. Who really...

Helloo Baaaaby.....

Those are the words of the immortal Big Bopper aka J. P. Richardson who died in a plane crash along with Buddy Holly and Richie Valens, February 3rd, 1959. Truly a great tragedy for the world. Haven't a clue what I'm talking about, look it up. My last post I was struggling to get my nails back in shape. Sadly, they would grow a bit longer than my fingertip and then peel. I couldn't have a Nail Art Blog without nails!! Well now I do. Let's check it out.  Here we are... I decided on this color because it's Spring in my neck of the woods. These are really simple, I think anyone could do them. These are PolyGel. Not a gel, not an acrylic. You do have to cure then in an LED/UV light but you could do them with regular polish and some nail art supplies. The pinky and thumb nail have gold nail foil on them. The ring finger has some glitter and a gold tone shield. The middle finger has some pearls and rhinestones attached. The index finger is my favorite. I starte...

Wishing you the very best Holiday season

Yes, I know it's been two months since my last post. My health issues have carried over for two months and I have been exhausted. I was finally feeling better and I lost someone very dear to me. When I was born. I was blessed with amazing parents, my Nana and my Aunt Wanda.  Wanda has always treated me like her own. I spent every minute of my childhood that I could at Wanda and Nana's house. It was home to me. My grandmother taught me how to iron, cook and sew among other things. I lost her when I was 11. Both parents passed away in 2003. Wanda was always there for me. She was like a second mom to me. She helped me with anything she could.  She babysat my six kids when I was a single parent going to school. She treated my kids like they were her own. She was an amazing woman. She worked at Grand Coulee Dam when it was being built, she traveled and she truly loved life. She was a Christian and she devoted her life to Jesus Christ. Back in July when I had surgery on my foo...
