It's Pink October

So here we are again.  October is such a beautiful time of year. It's also been deemed "Breast Cancer Awareness" month.  Last year I tried to do a different pink manicure every day. It was a bit over the top and I decided to do something different.  This is still a pink manicure, just different.

Since my nails are still a bit on the flimsy side after taking off the acrylics, I have been putting a coat of LED gel base and top coat. I did apply tips to  my thumb nails. They keep splitting about half of the way through the nail. That is just "no bueno."  Today I added a coat of sheer pink gel between those two coats. This make my nails stand up to the beating they take on a daily basis.

The pink gel I used is Sensationail Babydoll Pink. It's the perfect French manicure pink. The gel polish is EZ Flow Tru Gel base and top coat. Before you do anything with the gel, you need to make sure you use a "primer" first. This isn't a traditional primer like the one you use for acrylic nails. It's EZ Flow Bond-It -On.  There isn't any acid in it. You simply put it on and let it dry.

I tried to get as close as I could with the camera so you could see the design.

After I finished the gel, I used Mundo de Unas Pink-01. For the design I used a Emily de Molly stamping plate EDM10.

I topped the design off with a coat of INM Out the Door fast drying top coat and the deed, she is done.

I like this design because it's intricate without being too much.  I hope you enjoy this look.

As per usual, I purchased all my supplies with my own money. I have included the links below if you are interested.

Thanks for stopping by.

EZ Flow gel I bought from ebay. The seller isn't selling any longer but you can still find the products.

A woman is helpless only when her nail polish is drying......

My daughter gave me a sign that says just that as a gift. She is so right. I can cook anything I choose, change the oil in a car, change a tire and a hundred other things I learned along the way. Mess with me when my polish is drying, you are going to be in trouble. \ Seriously. Painting nail is an art, even if you are putting on one color. It's tricky,it takes practice and its frustrating as Hell if you have to start over. Be patient. Let a woman get her nails dry and everything is awesome.  Fortunately my kids aren't little anymore and then fend for themselves most of the time. Other times it's like this "Mom, Mooooom, I've cut my carotid artery! I'm bleeding!!"  Yes dear, I'll be right there. Let my nail polish dry. Seriously, it's never that severe. Funny though. On with the polish at hand.... I really like the Pro-Fx Nail Concealer. It makes a nice smooth base to work with. I use one coat. It dries fast which is a bonus. Who really...

Helloo Baaaaby.....

Those are the words of the immortal Big Bopper aka J. P. Richardson who died in a plane crash along with Buddy Holly and Richie Valens, February 3rd, 1959. Truly a great tragedy for the world. Haven't a clue what I'm talking about, look it up. My last post I was struggling to get my nails back in shape. Sadly, they would grow a bit longer than my fingertip and then peel. I couldn't have a Nail Art Blog without nails!! Well now I do. Let's check it out.  Here we are... I decided on this color because it's Spring in my neck of the woods. These are really simple, I think anyone could do them. These are PolyGel. Not a gel, not an acrylic. You do have to cure then in an LED/UV light but you could do them with regular polish and some nail art supplies. The pinky and thumb nail have gold nail foil on them. The ring finger has some glitter and a gold tone shield. The middle finger has some pearls and rhinestones attached. The index finger is my favorite. I starte...

Wishing you the very best Holiday season

Yes, I know it's been two months since my last post. My health issues have carried over for two months and I have been exhausted. I was finally feeling better and I lost someone very dear to me. When I was born. I was blessed with amazing parents, my Nana and my Aunt Wanda.  Wanda has always treated me like her own. I spent every minute of my childhood that I could at Wanda and Nana's house. It was home to me. My grandmother taught me how to iron, cook and sew among other things. I lost her when I was 11. Both parents passed away in 2003. Wanda was always there for me. She was like a second mom to me. She helped me with anything she could.  She babysat my six kids when I was a single parent going to school. She treated my kids like they were her own. She was an amazing woman. She worked at Grand Coulee Dam when it was being built, she traveled and she truly loved life. She was a Christian and she devoted her life to Jesus Christ. Back in July when I had surgery on my foo...
