It's almost Halloween............

I have yummy, delicious brains at the tips of my fingers!!!! Sort of. :) Last year, after Halloween I happened to see a you tube video for a nail stamping design. You guessed it, it was brains.  It was one of the cutest ideas I have ever seen. I tried to buy the stamping plate but at the time, I wasn't able to.  This year I started looking for the stamping plate in August. Success!!! I found it at http://bunnynails.storenvy.com/.  I ordered it and voila, here's my design.  I do have to give all the credit to Nailstamp4fun. Here's the link to the you tube video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dH2E5Jfeek&index=8&list=FLkvcInS-buHkwbBz_nGhX_Q Her's are different but I have always been of the mindset that everybody's brains are different. It's true in this case. I started with a base coat. I didn't paint my nails pink. I  left them bare. I put random spots of pink & red polish on a makeup wedge and stamped my nails. It will take a few ...

Mermaids are Forever

So I didn't plan on doing this look for  October. I usually do pink, even before I started this blog. I have four friends that have had breast cancer. I proudly wear a pink ribbon tattoo, as does my daughter, for these fine ladies as well as breast cancer survivors everywhere. To all of the people in the world who have any type of cancer, you are in my prayers. This look is a Mermaid look. Funny thing, I get my best while watching a trilogy of movies. I just turn them on and voila! I come up with looks I love and want to share.  Now I bet you are thinking "Lord of the Rings" or "The Hunger Games" or something girly and romantic. Nope. If you even thought about these movies you are so far off, it isn't funny. Ready for this?  It's "The Expendables."  I don't know why but these  movies always help me get my creativity electrons firing all at the same time. Here's the look: I thought it was pretty with the teal and the gems.  ...

It's Pink October

So here we are again.  October is such a beautiful time of year. It's also been deemed "Breast Cancer Awareness" month.  Last year I tried to do a different pink manicure every day. It was a bit over the top and I decided to do something different.  This is still a pink manicure, just different.  Since my nails are still a bit on the flimsy side after taking off the acrylics, I have been putting a coat of LED gel base and top coat. I did apply tips to  my thumb nails. They keep splitting about half of the way through the nail. That is just "no bueno."  Today I added a coat of sheer pink gel between those two coats. This make my nails stand up to the beating they take on a daily basis.  The pink gel I used is Sensationail Babydoll Pink. It's the perfect French manicure pink. The gel polish is EZ Flow Tru Gel base and top coat. Before you do anything with the gel, you need to make sure you use a "primer" first. This isn't a traditional p...

Greetings All!!

Hello again friends: Here is my polish of the fortnight. If you are unsure what that means, its fourteen days. It's been about that long or possibly longer since my last post. Nails are growing nicely. Yea!!! And I'm getting back in the swing of painting my nails regularly. The fortnight nails are fairly basic and neutral. Something fall-ish or Autumn-ish. Either way my lame computer can't figure how to auto correct. Speaking of auto correct, I sent my man a text and it auto corrected the name to Dr. Satan. Ghoulish I know but strangely all at the same time. Well, in the words of the immortal friends across the pond..............Tally ho.  I started, per usual with a base coat. Actually that's a fib. I started with a coat of E-Z Flow Bond-It-On. I followed with a coat of Super Nail Pro Gel Base Coat and one coat of Super Nail Pro Gel Top Coat. I have been doing this since I took off the acrylic. My nails are growing fairly quickly but its the tips are really thin. ...

I'm back.........................

I'm back in the saddle again.  Thank you Aerosmith for that line. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm a die hard classic rock fan. Thought for the day:  I watch a huge amount of you tube videos. These people are really talented. My issue is this: Is there really a need to use the word "like" in a video 33 times? It wasn't used to say something about a product. Example " I really like this foundation." It was used to say (here's another example) I think this lip gloss is like the perfect color for someone with fair skin. It's like totally s the perfect like no color lip color. I love this like shimmer it has and the like iridescence.  I know a billion people on the planet do this but seriously, why do you want to be like everyone else?  Be yourself and use words correctly. Sometimes I feel like I live on a planet of Valley Girls. And that was a correct use of the word "like." Now that I've stepped off my soapbox, here...
